My Friend

My friend, I stand in judgment now,
And feel that you're to blame somehow.
On Earth I walked with you day by day,
And never did you paint the way.

You knew the Lord in truth and Glory,
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim,
You could have led me safe to Him.

Though we lived together here on Earth,
You never told me of the second birth.
And now I stand this day condemned,
Because you failed to mention Him.

You taught me many things, that's true;
I called you "friend" and trusted you.
But I learn now that it's too late,
And you could have kept me from this fate.

We walked by day and talked by night,
And yet you showed me not the light.
You let me live, and love, and die,
You knew I'd never live on high.

Yes, I called you "friend" in life,
And trusted you through joy and strife.
And yet on coming to this dreadful end,
I cannot now call you "my friend".

I read the poem above earlier today on Mocha with Linda's blog. After reading it I began to ponder...when was the last time that I talked about my salvation to friends of mine who don't know the Lord personally? Especially with friends or family members who may attend church or believe salvation is due to good works?

Sharing the love of Christ with those you love is very difficult. I praying that this poem will help me and all who know the Lord to be bold in our conversations with our friends as the end times draw near.

Do you know where you will spend eternity? Do you think you will go to heaven? If so, how can you have assurance of salvation?

So many people have taken the time to explain the plan of salvation with illustrations. Since I am not able to speak with all who read this blog in person, please seek a pastor or a Christian you know to speak to about salvation. In the meantime, here are some online resources to check out:

Titus 3:5-7 declares, "he saved us, not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us in full measure through Jesus Christ our Savior. Praying that no matter where you are on your walk with the Lord, that He will speak to you this Resurrection Day. I pray that if you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus, why not ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to come and live within your heart now. For those of you that have already accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I pray that you will increase in your ability to understand the physical and emotional depth of Jesus’ suffering for you on the cross at Calvary.
